Healthy Schools Presentation Event (12/7/19)
12 July 2019
To finish the year, both Bramham and Shadwell took pupils to the Health & Well-being presentation event at Leeds Town Hall to accept the Healthy School’s Award and the MindMate Friendly achievement. It was a great day and a brilliant recognition of all the hard work the Federation does to help our children in all areas of their lives!
Y5/6 Girls Leeds Tag Rugby Finals at Crawshaw Academy (9/7/19) – Winners & Runners Up!
9 July 2019
This year we were able to take every girl in Y5 & 6 to the Leeds Finals Competition. The competition itself had been postponed from earlier in the season because of the weather, merging the Regionals with the Finals to form one big end of year competition. We had three teams entering, and with the best teams in the city in attendance, each team was successful in their own right. The Shadwell C-team were able to qualify out of their group and make it all the way to the quarter finals, showing the willingness to take responsibility and push themselves to do their very best! Our B-team also qualified from their difficult group by winning all of their games, their quarter-final, and their semi-final. They showed great resilience and maturity in challenging situations. In the final they met the Shadwell A-team, who had also won all their games so far, making the final an all Shadwell affair. With both first and second places already sealed, the girls made the final an enjoyably competitive match. It was clear both teams wanted to win and call themselves the best in Leeds and in the end, it was Shadwell A-team who narrowly came on top, winning the Leeds Finals for the 5th YEAR IN A ROW! Also not losing a competitive game in those five years, is an incredible achievement! To have all our teams do so well in the competition was just a brilliant way for a truly tremendous group of children to end their primary school experience; we’ve always been, and will continue to be, so proud of our children! Well done girls!
Y5/6 Boys Football Leeds Final at St Theresa’s (8/7/19) – Won 3-1!
8 July 2019
What a way for the football team to end their season, by competing in the Leeds Final! Just to get to this stage was a great achievement; it’s been a long road for the boys and they’ve overcome a lot of setbacks and tricky situations to be here. They were playing Holy Family, a great school for sport and the team that had previously beaten Shadwell in the Cup Final earlier in the season. The boys, understandable with the occasion, got off to a shaky start, needing to settle into the game. We struggled to get out of our own half for the first part of the game as Holy Family applied pressure and took a few corners. Still towards half time was when Shadwell were able to mount some pressure of their own, and even took the lead! Unfortunately, Holy Family were able to equalise straight away, meaning the joy was short lived, and when a Shadwell penalty hit the bar just before the break, the team went in with mixed feelings at half time. On the one hand they had withstood heavy pressure and handled it well. On the other they could argue they might be 2-0 up on another day. Still, the scores were level, and the focus had to be on the second half as they entered the next 20 minutes of football. Defensively, we were doing really well, restricting the opposition to mainly long range shots and using our pace and passing to create attacks of our own; and when Gabriel finished an attack down the left to make it 2-1, it was on the opposition to come and apply even more pressure, allowing us to use that space even better. Dan B added a third soon after and the boys managed the situation brilliantly to secure the result! The game finished 3-1 and meant for the first time in school history, Shadwell had the best boys football team in Leeds! A tremendous achievement which the boys had strived for, and definitely didn’t come easily! What a great end to the season!
Y5 Leeds Dodgeball Finals at Leeds Beckett (4/7/19) – Winners!
4 July 2019
Having qualified by winning their previous round, the Y5 Dodgeball team competed at the Leeds Finals alongside the other best teams in the City. In an action-packed competition with lots of intense moments, the boys kept their cool, bringing back games from losing positions and making key plays when it counted! The results saw us win our group and qualify for the final! In the final it was a best of three format. We were able to win the first game, but just lost the second right at the end to take it to a deciding final three-minute match. A close game to start with, the team made some brilliant catches to swing the momentum and then capitalised with some great counter shots to win the final, and the tournament overall! Making them the best team in the whole of Leeds! Well done boys, you really earned it!
Y5/6 Tag Rugby West Yorkshire Finals (1/7/19) – Runners Up!
1 July 2019
Having qualified from the Leeds Finals in May, the team were now one of four to represent the whole city at the West Yorkshire Finals against the best teams from Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale! In what was quite possibly the best Tag Rugby team performance ever, the children won their group matches 4-1, 4-1, 9-0 and 5-1 to set up a quarter final match. The team were playing brilliantly and won the quarter final 6-3 and the semi-final 5-1 to set up a final match. Even though the children lost the final 4-3, their play throughout was absolutely tremendous; the best teams in the whole County were in attendance and to finish 2nd, out of around 750 teams which had took part throughout the year was amazing, and the best Shadwell had ever done! Credit goes to this fantastic team and what they’ve achieved, how they’ve achieved it, and the way they’ve worked together!
Y6 Girls Leeds Cricket Finals (27/6/19) – Winners & 3rd Place
27 June 2019
For the first time, we entered the Leeds Girls Cricket Tournament this year, and were able to take all the girls in Y6, forming two teams. Despite having limited experience playing competitively, the girls did brilliantly, winning their games and having great fun doing so. Both teams got the results they were hoping for, eventually finishing first and third overall and the winners qualified for the Yorkshire Finals as a result! It was a great day out full of enjoyable moments!
Y6 Boys Dodgeball Tournament at John Smeaton (27/6/19) – Winners!
27 June 2019
With the Y6 girls having won their tournament earlier in the year, it was the boys’ turn to compete this time. They were able to grow into the tournament as it went on, progressing through the games and making the most of their chances. The team’s play was so good in fact that it meant they eventually won the whole tournament, just like the girls did previously! It was a great evening with lots of action-packed moments and another brilliant result for the boys!
Y5/6 Boys Football match away at St Urbans (24/6/19) – Won 3-0
24 June 2019
The next boys football match took us to the semi-final of the whole of Leeds. We were away once again, such was the draw, this time to St Urban’s. It wasn’t as straight forward as the score line may suggest, and early on there were definitely a few moments where the whole game could have swung in favour of one team or the other. Luckily at times for Shadwell, we were able to just about clear the ball from our danger zone in time, and finish off our chances throughout, scoring in the first half and adding a couple more in the second half to seal the result! This means, for the first time ever, Shadwell will go onto compete in the Leeds Final to potentially be the best team in the whole of Leeds!
Y5/6 Girls Football Tournament at Goals (19/6/19)
19 June 2019
Once again, we were able to take all the girls from Y5 & 6 to the annual St Bart’s Football Tournament at Goals. It was a great day out, with all children able to take part and compete together; all three of our teams played well and we had some tremendous results! The tournament itself contains over 80 teams, with only 16 making it to the next round, so the standards are high and qualification is tough; especially as all the games take place in cages where the ball doesn’t go out which is a different style to what the girls are used to! Even though they didn’t qualify, our C-team played well together and took responsibility in order to do their best; with some great games against difficult opposition they should be very proud of themselves. They showed a great deal of enthusiasm and desire! Our B-team actually qualified from their group, winning it out of the 7 teams in it! This showed our strength in depth as a school and they were unlucky in the knockout round, narrowly losing to a good Immaculate Heart team on sudden death penalties. They got just as far as any Shadwell team had done previously, which was a great achievement! Our A-team also won their group, and were able to win their first-round knockout match, taking them to the quarter finals; the furthest a Shadwell team had ever got! Although they lost a hard-fought game to Woodlesford, it was a fantastic effort from the girls and a brilliant journey to get that from throughout the day. It was also the last time the girls in Y6 would play football for school; it’s been a truly historic season for girls’ football at Shadwell and they’ve not only played so well but also done it the right way with tremendous sportsmanship and teamwork throughout! Well done girls, we are very proud of you all!
Y5/6 Netball League Finals at Cookridge (17/6/19)
17 June 2019
Having won the East Leeds League for the first time, Shadwell therefore qualified for the League Finals Day; a competition where all the league winners play off against each other. In a very difficult tournament, which included teams that were going onto compete in the West Yorkshire Finals, the team fought valiantly, narrowly losing. Despite the result the team was rightly pleased with what they had done to get to this stage and can look back on the season with pride!
Y5/6 Boys Football match at Allerton Grange (11/6/19) – Won 4-3
11 June 2019
In the quarter final of the Leeds Football Tournament, the team played Allerton Moor Hall Primary on Allerton Grange’s fields, with the winners qualifying for a final four place in the whole city! Shadwell got off to the best start imaginable when Tom’s shot looped in over the keeper. It stayed 1-0 into the second half until Harry in goal got injured making a great save and colliding with the opposition striker. As he tried to run it off the opposition quickly scored two goals to flip the game on its head. Midfielder Josh went in goal as Harry was unable to continue and we went from there. The score remained the same right up to the final minute, where captain Fin scored a brilliant long-range strike to equalise. Still in the last minute, Moor Allerton Hall went up the other end to take the lead, once again. Shadwell quickly took the kick off and won a corner, from which captain Fin once again equalised! The final whistle blew to signal the end of a crazy last passage of play; three goals in the last minute of the game was a frantic end and something I don’t think anyone had seen before. The boys had to remain calm, they still had to win the game if they wanted to progress and maintain their epic comeback. Gabriel managed to score another great goal in extra time to take the lead; a lead which the boys were able to maintain in a tough physical game which had everything, and book their place in the Leeds semi-final!
Y5/6 Netball Regional Finals at Corpus Christi (6/6/19) – Runners Up
6 June 2019
After qualifying from their competition to get her, the Netball team competed at the Regional Finals this week, with only the winners having the opportunity to go through to the City Finals. The team played brilliantly all the way through the group stages and were also able to win their semi-final. Despite leading in the final, they were ultimately unable to overcome Deighton Gates, who won 2-1 in the end; meaning Shadwell unfortunately didn’t qualify for the City Finals. Although we just missed out, you can’t take away from the brilliant Netball, or the great attitude shown by the team; they should be really proud of themselves!
Y5/6 Leeds Girls Football City Finals at Cardinal Heenan (24/5/19) – 3rd place
24 May 2019
With the seasons almost over, the girls finished the half term competing at the Leeds City Finals. With the top 4 teams in the city there, it was always going to be difficult but the team played their best football in the first game against Highfield; applying lots of pressure and creating chances. Despite this, the game remained 0-0 all the way through extra time and went to penalties. The girls were very brave to step up on take their penalties, and even got them all on target. We were unfortunate to miss out, and Alina even made a great save to keep us in it at one stage. It was obviously difficult for the girls to take after such a great season, but they showed so many of the personal qualities which made them the great team they are to pick themselves up to win the 3rd place play off against Holy Family. It’s been an incredible season for the girls who have won games in the league, City Finals, County Finals and North of England Finals this year, and had a great time doing so!
Y5/6 Girls Football 1st team match at Bramham (22/5/19) – Lost 6-4
22 May 2019
To prepare for Friday’s City Finals to girls travelled to Bramham to play a mixed boys and girls team. Despite the hot weather the girls played some brilliant passing football; scoring some great team goals and showing their usual committed defending as they look forward to Friday!
Y5/6 Tag Rugby City Finals at JCCS (21/5/19) – 3rd place
21 May 2019
The hectic week continued on Tuesday as the Tag Rugby 1st team went to John Charles Centre for Sport to compete at the City Finals. We were drawn in a particularly tough group, but were able to win all our group games, including some where we had to come back from losing positions, to qualify for the quarter finals! We were able to win the quarters and despite losing the semi final in a close 4-3 defeat, picked ourselves up and won the 3rd place play off to finish 3rd out of around 150 teams! A brilliant achievement and they will now go onto represent the whole of Leeds at the West Yorkshire Finals in July!
Y5/6 Netball match at Bramham (21/5/19) – Won 18-2
21 May 2019
After a busy day at the Tag Rugby City Finals with the Tag Rugby team, the Netball team played in the evening as they went to Bramham for their final league game of the season. It what was billed as a close game the team ran away with it from the beginning, establishing an early lead and not looking back. The result means that the team have officially won the league and will now compete at the League Finals day in June!
Y5/6 Netball Heat at Corpus Christi (20/5/19) – Winners!
20 May 2019
The start to an extremely busy week began with the first round of the Leeds Netball competition on Monday. We took the whole Netball squad, comprising of two teams. Both teams played exceptional Netball, making it to the semi-finals, where they actually met each other! The winner of the semi also won the final and therefore qualified for the Regional Finals after half term! A great start to the week!
Y4 Girls Football at home vs IHOM (16/5/19) – Lost 4-0
16 May 2019
The girls played their second match with just themselves this week as they hosted an IHOM team mixed with some Y5 players in. This was again a great experience as if the team are hoping to play football next year they will need to be able to compete against older children. Compete they did, their enthusiasm never went and although they lost the game, right now it is about getting the experience needed and learn for the future!
Y5/6 Boys Football 1st team at home vs Primrose Lane (10/5/19) – 2-2 AET Won 3-2 on penalties
10 May 2019
With their second huge game in two days, the boys played Primrose Lane in the first knockout round of the Champions Play-offs; the competition where league winners play each other for a place in the next round. No doubt these games were going to be tougher, and this one proved to be the most difficult yet. The boys picked themselves up from their cup final defeat yesterday and were able to take the lead in the first half, only for Primrose to equalise in the second. Despite regaining the lead, Primrose again equalised with the last kick of the game from a corner to take the match to extra time. The game became less open throughout the extra period and went all the way to penalties. Both teams missed chances, resulting in sudden death. A big save from Harry in goal, and a powerful strike from Tom meant that Shadwell held their nerve to qualify for the quarter finals and will play the winners of Moor Allerton High School vs Woodlesford! Credit to Primrose Lane for a great game which could have gone either way in the end!
Y5/6 Boys Football 1st team – Leeds Cup Final vs Holy Family (9/5/19) – Lost 2-0
9 May 2019
In a big couple of days for the boys’ football team, they started with a trip to Garforth Town Stadium for the final of the Leeds Cup against Holy Family Primary School. This was our first ever appearance in this final and the team were excited to play in an actual stadium! Both teams had chances in the first half, and again in slippery, tricky conditions the ball was difficult to control. With the added occasion of being in a final the boys did well to manage their emotions and hold their nerve. They didn’t let it get them down when a Holy Family strike skidded in off the post and came out in the second have with all the energy and focus they’d shown all season. Despite conceding a second, and eventually losing the game, the boys played well. A shot just wouldn’t fall in our favour; we created chances through brilliant build up play, but it clearly just wasn’t going to be our day. Credit to Holy Family, who also played well and had some excellent attacking players. Still, the team couldn’t have given any more, and can be proud of how far they got to get to a great final!
Y4 Boys Football match at home vs Bramham (7/5/19) – Won 4-2
7 May 2019
Tonight was the first match of the season for just the Y4 boys as they look to get experience playing for school and prepare for more competitive sport in Y5 & Y6. The game was a great match to be a part of, and Bramham took the lead early on! Shadwell equalised and then took the lead before half time. The score was extended early in the second half, only for Bramham to pull one back before the end! A thoroughly entertaining game and a great first experience for a lot of the boys!
Y5/6 Netball match at home vs Alwoodley (2/5/19) – Won 11-1
2 May 2019
As the Netball league season began to draw to a close, the squad hosted Alwoodley knowing a win would put them in a great position to win the league. Despite finishing the first quarter 1-0 down, it only seemed to fire the team up and they went onto win the next three quarters with their usually excellent passing and moving and great long range shooting!
Y5 Football match at home vs Roundhay (29/4/19) – Won 2-0 & Drew 1-1
29 April 2019
As the football league deadline loomed, the Y5 class team played a couple of matches. With the squad open to anyone in the class we were able to field two separate teams in each game, both with positive results against a strong Roundhay team who themselves were top of the league. The effort and energy was their from all and we look forward to furthering our skills next season!
Y5/6 Boys Football 1st team away at Westwood (26/4/19) – Drew 0-0/Won 4-3 on pens
26 April 2019
The boys team played their second game in two days this week, and it was a big one! The made the 40 minute trip down to South Leeds to play Westwood in the semi-final of the Leeds Cup. The team got off to a fast start again and forced Westwood to make a couple of goal line clearances. The game levelled out and was mostly played in the midfield, with both teams working hard to break the deadlock. The opening goal never came, which forced the game into extra-time. Even with the extra period a goal still couldn’t be found so the match went to penalties. Shadwell took first, and with both teams scoring and missing, it went to sudden death, with our brilliant boys coming out on top to stake a place in the final against Holy Family! A really difficult match full of tension, but the team did very well to hold their nerve, and was a great experience for the future!
Y5/6 Boys’ Football 1st team match at home vs St Theresa’s (25/4/19) - Won 2-0
25 April 2019
The boys played their final league game of the season as they hosted St Theresa’s. With every game they play from now on being a difficult one, this was the perfect way to end the league, as St Theresa’s have always been difficult opponents. In their second close game of the season, Shadwell were just able to edge it; both teams had chances, and just like their previous game the match swung on a couple of key moments; with both goals being scored in the first four minutes.
Y4 Girls’ Football match at home vs Bramham (24/4/19) – Won 1-0
24 April 2019
Having played a few mixed football matches this season, as part of broadening their experience we played a girls only match, further preparing the children for the type of football they’ll be playing next season. A great goal early on ended up sealing the result, but credit to Bramham, who were also playing their first girls’ game as they also worked hard and even hit the post on a couple of occasions!
Y4 Football match at home vs Millfield (16/4/19) – Lost 2-1
16 April 2019
The Year 4 football team continued their run of fixtures as the hosted Meanwood this week. As had been the trend this year, half the class were playing, with the other half having played their game previously. The children played a great game, narrowly losing to a team which played together regularly. They showed all the characteristics you would want and, as young players, will only get better as they receive more experience!
Y5/6 Girls’ Football 1st team away at Highfield (29/3/19) – Won 2-0
29 March 2019
To finish off what has been a phenomenal half term of sport the girls’ football 1st team travelled to 3rd place Highfield. After such a lot of sport in the last few weeks it was no wonder the girls got off to a fairly slow start by their standards; Alina was required to make a couple of great saves early on. As the half progressed the girls grew into the game, eventually making the breakthrough when Isla tapped in Megan’s cross to make it 1-0. The team battled hard for every challenge throughout the 2nd half showing great determination, and after some great work from Lucy down the left, Sukhmann powered in a shot passed the keeper. The final score remained 2-0 and the girls should be proud of using any energy they had left to get a great win!
Y5/6 Netball at home vs Carr Manor (28/3/19) – Won 10-1
28 March 2019
A great performance from the team in their second match this week, especially as there was some squad rotation in an attempt to give everyone some game time. Shadwell were even 1-0 down after the first quarter, but some excellent attacking play from Abigail and Emelia in the 2nd got the ball rolling and the team never looked back to make it two wins out of two!
Y5/6 Boys Football 1st team at home vs Grimes Dyke (27/3/19) – Cup quarter final – Won 2-0
27 March 2019
As the half term drew to a close, the boys hosted Grimes Dyke as both teams tried to book a place in the Leeds Cup semi final. After a close game earlier in the season, this game followed suit as the ball was mainly held in the middle of the pitch. Indeed, the score at halftime remained locked at 0-0. The second half was just as close but Shadwell were able to take the lead when Gabriel was able to capitalise on a defensive ricochet to fire home. As the game drew to a close, Gabriel was once again able to score to extend Shadwell’s lead. A great victory in a close game meant Shadwell progress to the semi-finals; a brilliant achievement!
Y5/6 Tag Rugby at Allerton High School – Winners! (26/3/19)
26 March 2019
As a busy week of sport got underway, we took 6 teams to Tag Rugby regionals this week; a record number of teams for any school! It was a brilliant day and everyone played to their best and represented the school brilliantly! We even managed to get a team through to the Leeds City Finals in May, which is a great achievement in itself, but to have so many children playing sport and enjoying themselves is another fantastic achievement!
Y5/6 Netball away at Deighton Gates (25/3/19) – Won 7-4
25 March 2019
The squad got their league season underway as they travelled to Deighton Gates on Monday. Always a good team, Deighton provided a tough match up with the scores remaining close throughout the first half. We were able to put together some great passing and moving in the third quarter which gave us a lead to hold onto in the fourth, eventually winning 7-4 – a great start to the season!
Y5/6 Girls’ Football 1st team at the North of England Finals! (21/3/19)
21 March 2019
In what was their biggest achievement to date, the girls’ football team travelled all the way down to Sheffield to represent the school, the city, and the county at the North of England Football Finals! With 11 teams competing, each a winner of their own county competition, the standard was always going to be high. Never ones to shrink from a challenge, the girls took it head on and gave everyone they played a tough game, getting some great wins and were genuinely unlucky in other games. The team that eventually won, from Durham, won all their games, except for the one when they played us – a 1-1 draw, which should show how competitive we were. The girls are a fantastic team full of great players and fully deserved to be a part of such a special occasion!
Y5/6 Boys’ Football 1st team away at Swarcliffe (20/3/19) – Won 12-1
20 March 2019
The boys continued their league campaign today as they travelled to Swarcliffe. With the end of the season drawing near, the boys are preparing themselves for tough games in the upcoming weeks. They got off to a great start today, and were able to apply pressure early on eventually leading 5-0 at half time. Despite conceding early on in the second half, the game really opened up from that point on and the boys were able to extend their lead, winning 12-1.
Y5/6 Girls’ Football 1st team at home vs St Paul’s (18/3/19) – Won 4-0
18 March 2019

After a close start the team were able to pull away in the second half, creating some good passing and moving as well as finishing their chances; eventually resulting in a 4-0 win!
Y5/6 Girls’ Football 1st team at home vs Horsforth Newlaithes (15/3/19) – Won 2-1
15 March 2019
Preparation has begun for the girls’ big North of England tournament next week as they played some tough games leading up to it, starting with Horsforth. There’s usually a breeze on our home field, but today’s game was something else, with a really strong wind affecting how both teams would like to play. Sukhmann was able to give Shadwell the lead in the first half, but Horsforth equalised in the second. With time running down an incredible shot from Hetty, from the half way line, found the back of the net to give Shadwell the win! A brilliant end to a hard-fought game!
Y4 Football away at Wetherby St Joseph’s (14/3/19) – Lost 8-0
14 March 2019
The second lot of Y4s played on Thursday as we went over to Wetherby to play St Joseph’s. Although we may not have got the result we were hoping for, at this stage it’s all about getting as much experience as possible and learning to work as a team. There were still positives to take from the match, including the children’s resilience, which will help with their progression for future games.
Y5 Football at home vs Scholes (13/3/19) – Won 3-2
13 March 2019
The Y5 team played in the league against Scholes this week as they hosted Scholes. With the match-day squad open to anyone who wanted to play we once again had many players participating, which was brilliant for a start! In what was a close match everyone got good game time and whenever we made substitutions the players coming on were just as committed as the players coming off. Not only that, we were able to finish the match with a victory; special mention to Dan who ended up with all three goals!
Y4 Football at home vs Bardsey (12/3/19) – Lost 2-1
12 March 2019
With two Y4 matches booked in for this week, we decided to split the class into halves, with one half playing in each game. The first squad hosted Bardsey, and for a team that had just been put together they played remarkably well, with all players showing great enthusiasm regardless of their experience levels. We narrowly missed out on getting the result we wanted, but to keep the score so close and competitive for the full game was a good achievement for our team!
Y5/6 Tag Rugby 1st team away vs Allerton (11/3/19) – Won 9-8
11 March 2019
The Tag Rugby 1st team prepared for the upcoming Regional Tournament by travelling to Allerton in a friendly match. It was certainly good preparation in a close, hard fought game which definitely made our players get on their toes and compete. The team were actually 8-4 down at one point but showed great resilience and determination to come back and win 9-8!
Y5/6 Girls’ Football 2nd team away at Harewood (4/3/19) – Won 6-3
4 March 2019
The girls 2nd team travelled to Harewood this week in wet and muddy conditions to play their latest fixture. On a small pitch the girls did well to find space and create chances for themselves and, even though Harewood were able to score, Shadwell managed to pull away towards the end with some great attacking play. Credit also to Amrit and Sofia, who both helped out in goal and each made some great saves!
Y5/6 Boys’ Football 1st team at home vs Scholes (28/2/19) – Won 2-1
28 February 2019
The boys got their half term underway with a home league match against Scholes this week. Having not played together for a while it took the first half for the boys to get together and play like they had done previously, conceding a goal early on. The game opened up more in the second half and the team created chances for themselves, showing resilience and composure to play their way back into the match, eventually winning 2-1.
Y5/6 Boys’ Football 2nd team at home vs Thorner (8/2/19) – Drew 2-2
8 February 2019
The boys’ football 2nd team had another game tonight as they entertained Thorner. In what was a thoroughly entertaining game with multiple chances for both teams, a draw was probably a fair result – Shadwell even managed to get a late equaliser towards the end of the game, which was reward for all their hard work! Also credit to Alina in goal, and Emily, who filled in from the girls’ 1st team and played exceptionally well!
Y5/6 Girls Football 1st team at home vs Deighton Gates (7/2/19) – Won 3-1
7 February 2019
The girls’ football 1st team hosted Deighton Gates tonight as they looked to continue their good league form. Despite going 1-0 down, the team stuck together and fought back to claim a great win, with some excellent attacking play in the second half!
Y4/5/6 Cross Country City Finals at Temple Newsam (6/2/19)

Shadwell retook the lead just before half time when a ball was played passed the Bramham keeper and Jacob tapped in his, and Shadwell’s second of the game. The team had to withstand a lot of Bramham pressure in the second half and the second equaliser came when a run through the middle ended with a neat Bramham finish.
