Welcome

Welcome to Shadwell Primary School

I am delighted to welcome you to our wonderful school and excited to lead our dedicated team as we embark on the next chapter of our journey. Our vision is clear: to be an inspiring, inclusive community. This vision was shaped collaboratively by parents, staff, governors, and children, reflecting the strong bond between our school and the wider community.

Shadwell Primary is a one-form-entry school nestled in the heart of our beautiful village. This means we have one class in each year group, with 30 places per class. Our picturesque semi-rural setting provides extensive outdoor space for children to enjoy throughout the day. We are proud of our caring, family ethos, and we know every child as an individual.

Our children quickly become engaged in their learning, setting aspirations for the future and reflecting on their progress along the way. Our staff are professional, approachable, and deeply committed to ensuring the highest standards for every child. Each day is guided by our core values: confidence, acceptance, resilience, and empathy. (CARE).

We aim to help children grow academically, socially, and emotionally, giving them every opportunity to shine in their own way. At Shadwell, we nurture and celebrate each child’s dreams and aspirations. We believe every day is special - a chance to learn, to explore, and to develop curiosity about the world around them. In doing so, we strive to help every child reach their academic potential - but not at the expense of childhood.

We are part of The Bramham and Shadwell Federation. A federation is a partnership of schools working together to provide the highest quality education and pastoral care for every child. At Shadwell Primary, we are proud to offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is both exciting and challenging. We believe that the care and support your child receives here, combined with our high expectations and strong outcomes, creates a foundation for lifelong learning. This foundation will support them as they take their next steps in life with confidence and curiosity.

I look forward to welcoming you into our school.
