Dear Parents, Carers and Families,
Shadwell is an inclusive one form entry Outstanding Primary School and last year was listed as being in The Times top 5% of Primary Schools in the country. We know our children as individuals and we tailor our teaching to their needs in this way. We are proud of our family ethos and our children quickly develop their own engagement in their learning, focusing on aspirations for their future and evaluating their progress along the way.
A new club has started after school on a Friday called the "Innovation and creativity club". Children had the opportunity to learn all about innovation, the power of imagination and the skill of creating products or ideas that add value to peoples lives. The children really enjoyed drawing their ideas and working together in teams. There were several problems set by Mr Mallett and the children could chose one of them. 1, Design a better celotape dispenser, 2, Design a new way for children to travel to school on foot, and 3, Design an engaging toy for a young child. There were some great ideas and it is hoped that next week cardboard prototypes of these ideas can be constructed and later presented to the whole school.
Training days for this academic year are as follows:
Monday 2nd November 2015
Tuesday 26th July 2016
